Policies and FAQs - PADI Lessons

Subject to change at any time at the sole discretion of CMDC.

Safety

CMDC strives to provide the safest environments possible to ensure the best experiences for all students.

CMDC is not liable for injuries or harm caused by a student's unsafe behavior.

Here are some examples of unsafe behavior - This is not a complete list, but should give you an idea of what's not appropriate during a class or course: horseplay, distracting other students, ignoring or interrupting the instructor, swimming off without permission, swimming in water that is too deep, touching or chasing after wildlife.

Students who participate in unsafe behavior will be asked to leave immediately without a refund.

We do not pass students who are not able to proficiently demonstrate all skills they learn in class. If a student is having consistent difficulty with one or more skills, we may reschedule or require a retake of the class at a discount.

Booking, Refunds, and Rescheduling

We will help you determine which course, dates, and locations work best for you during your free consultation. For PADI certifications, there are minimum requirements for pools and open water areas that may require significant travel for both parties. Rest assured that the locations chosen by CMDC are worth the travel, since they provide the best environments for diving.

Payment is due in full at the time of booking, and due to the extensive amount of planning, scheduling, and reserving required on our behalf, you have 7 days to cancel your booking to receive a full refund. After 7 days, you will only be able to receive a max 50% refund. Please double check your availability for your chosen dates. It is the responsibility of the student (or parent/guardian if under 18) to make sure there are no prior social, medical, or other appointments that would impact your CMDC experience.

Students asked to leave a class due to unsafe or inappropriate behavior will not receive a refund.

Students who are late, or who leave a class early, will not receive a refund.

Students who do not come prepared with all their proper equipment will be asked to leave without a refund.

There may be occasions where CMDC needs to reschedule a course due to circumstances out of anyone's control, such as severe weather or closure of a pool facility. If that happens, CMDC will reschedule with you at no extra charge.

Rentals

Mermaid tails and monofins may be available to rent to students who do not have one of their own. However, it is in the student's best interests to purchase their own tail and monofin for home practice.

Available tail and monofin combos can be rented at $50 per class. Availability is not guaranteed so please check with us first to make sure we have your size. If the student is enrolled in a multi-day course, the tail and monofin will be kept with the instructor and given to the student at the start of each day - students may not take rentals home with them.

Rentals that are lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair/use will result in a recovery fee of 100% the original cost of the tail and monofin.
